Tourist possibilities for Congress Delegates
Attending a Conference in Cape Town offers a wonderful opportunity to explore parts of South Africa and Southern Africa. January is an ideal time of the year, and there are many exciting ways in which to explore the breath-taking natural beauty of this part of the world.

Robin Troup of Mpumalanga Experience tours & safaris has for many years worked closely with our Congress Coordinator. He is well acquainted with needs of visitors from afar and is able to tailor tours to individual needs and requirements.

He offers Airport transfers, half and full day tours during the week of the Congress as well as Pre & Post-Congress Tours such as to the Kruger Park, Garden Route and Victoria Falls. There are also unique safari options to Botswana and Namibia.

FULL DAY CAPE POINT (8-9 Hours)

Experience some of the most spectacular views in the world.  We begin with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast stopping in the fishing village of Hout Bay.  Optional short boat trip to Duiker Island to view the Cape Fur Seals.  We then head along Chapman’s Peak Drive (Subject to being open) on to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.  After time spent at Cape Point we travel via False Bay and return to Cape Town by way of the Simon’s Town Naval Base where we visit the Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach.  Travel via Fishhoek fishing village and Muizenberg to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens (Optional).  Return to Cape Town in the late afternoon.

FULL DAY WINELANDS (8-9 Hours)

Travel to three most famous wine routes of South Africa.  Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschoek.  This tour includes 3 wine tastings, 1 Cheese tasting and a cellar tour.  Optional Stop at Cheetah Centre.

HALF DAY CITY TOUR (4-5 Hours) AM or PM

A comprehensive city orientation tour starting with a trip up Table Mountain by cable car offering a panoramic view (weather permitting and cable way ticket for own account).  At the summit are short walks to enjoy the magnificent vistas.  Other highlights include a brief tour of the Malay Quarter, City Centre, Company Gardens, Castle of Good Hope (time permitting) and the South African National Museum.

HALF DAY WINELANDS (4-5 Hours) AM or PM 

This tour will include 2 wine tastings, 1 cheese tasting and a cellar tour in the Stellenbosch District.

Cost  R480.00 per person


HALF DAY CAPE POINT (4-5 HOURS) AM or PM

This tour will include the Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach, Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope.

TOWNSHIP TOUR (4-5 Hours) AM or PM

This is a half day  visit to the poverty stricken “Townships” of Cape Town.  Experience Township life, visit to the District 6 Museum, followed by a drive through District 6.  Visit an “African” and “Coloured” area and be entertained by the cultural explanations.  Your will be exposed to various local people, all of which will reflect a local and national culture of “South Africans”.

DAY SAFARI FULL DAY

Collection and transfer to Game Reserve, Full course buffet breakfast, 2-3 hour in 4x4 vehicles and a lunch before returning to Cape Town

WHITE SHARK DIVING/VIEWING FULL DAY

Collection from Hotel, breakfast, Day at Sea and a lecture on board.  Diving and viewing. Dive equipment supplied.  Lunch on board, afternoon tea.  Scenic Drive back to your hotel.

HERMANUS WHALE TOUR FULL DAY (July to November)

Travel coastal road to Hermanus. Best shore based whale watching. Spend time watching and photographing these magnificent giants from what must be the best shore based whale watching sight in the world. Time allowed for shopping and lunch with optional boat based whale watching also available. Return to Cape Town via Sir Lowry’s Pass.
